ArtsWire is an on-line communication network for the arts. This service lists numerous links to regional and national arts organizations. ArtsWire provides the browser with up to date news on happenings throughout the art world. Essentially, this site gives users a solid starting point from which culturally related information can be easily researched.

The Association of American University Presses, Inc. (AAUP) assists its members through cooperative programs, educational meetings, professional information, public relations, and policy formation. Includes the AAUP Online Catalog of University Press Publications, currently listing more than 66,000 titles. Also includes guidelines for submitting manuscripts to publishers and for preparing an electronic manuscript.

Bibliofind is a search engine and reference tool that locates old, rare, and used books of all kinds. By accessing a number of specialized bookstores throughout the world, Bibliofind can list all instances that a certain author or title appears within its database, show the prices of that text at various locations and assist in attaining that book. This is a very useful site for bibliophiles who collect rare and autographed copies of books.

The Database of African-American Poetry is a collection of poems written by African-Americans over the period ranging from 1760-1900. Over 2500 poems are included in this database run by the University of Virginia.

The Electronic Poetry Center serves as a gateway to sources of electronic poetry and poetics. This service provided by the University of Buffalo aims to make a variety of resources centered on contemporary poetics readily available.

The Library of Congress provides a page for gateway access to the Library's catalog and those at many other institutions. Search the Library of Congress Catalog (using book titles or authors' names) to find helpful information on just about any published book or writer.

The Literary HyperCalendar, a literary calendar with search capabilities, presents events in literary history according to particular days.

Poets & Writers (P&W) believes in literature's fundamental contribution to contemporary culture. For the past 26 years, P&W has focused on the source of literature, providing support and exposure to writers at all stages in their development. P&W assists authors in their search for career-related information, outlets for their work, opportunities for professional advancement and community with other writers.

The Works of the Bard is a site that provides browsers with an opportunity to view the entire text of Shakespeare's canon. A link within the site also allows the visitor to submit words or phrases to a browser that will search for the appearance of that search string in each and every work of William Shakespeare's. This page links to a number of other Shakespeare sites as well.

WritersNet(sm) is a site that attempts to help build relationships between writers, publishers, editors, and literary agents. WritersNet(sm) currently consists of two sections: The Internet Directory of Published Writers, and The Internet Directory of Literary Agents. Both directories are searchable, including of hundreds of published writers with published works, biographical statements, and contact information; and literary agents with areas specialization, descriptions of the agencies, and contact information. Both writers and agents can add/edit their entries online.
